The Wonders of the Deep South visit Huvadhoo, Fuvahmula and Addu Atoll. The trip starts by flying from North Male to the south according to where the boat schedule. Will embark in Addu and disembark in Huvadhoo or the opposite.

Huvadhoo is one of the largest atolls in the world and the one with the most local islands. It will offer amazing pelagic encounters, channels full of sharks, and whale sharks who visit the boat at night. The amazing Fish factory with pristine coral gardens and dozens of turtles. Eagle rays are common sights after a few days of exploring the atoll. Overnight will head south and on the way to the next destination, will cross the equator.

Early in the morning arrive at Fuvahmulah surrounded by beautiful walls that drop down steeply into the depths of the Indian ocean. Fuvamulah offers stunning blue water dives while passing by the southern plateau. There are chances to meet, big pelagic, hammerhead and tiger sharks, thresher sharks, silvertips, whale sharks and even oceanic mantas can be sighted. The famous Tiger zoo offers close encounters with these incredible creatures. There are also drift dives along the beautiful walls covered in corals. 

Will finish the trip in Addu Atoll. This is the southwest part of the itinerary. Here is stunning coral, Manta point. Here will also have the opportunity to dive the British loyalty, the biggest shipwreck in Maldives.

Cruise Highlights

The trip starts in North Male Atoll. During the rainy season it is the perfect time to dive in Lankan Manta point where you will enjoy the first manta encounters of the trip or dive the Fish factory with its walls full of fat moray eels and stingrays flying all over the place.  After that we will cross to explore Rasdhoo Atoll looking for some shark action in the channels. Then continue the journey to North Ari, gonna be diving some of its famous thilas. Thilas are the bread and butter of the Maldivian dives. These underwater pinnacles are full of fish life, sharks and amazing critters waiting for you. It’s possible to find frogfishes, ghost pipefishes, octopus, mantis shrimps or turtles in their coral gardens .

South Ari is where will try our luck looking for the oceans’ gentle giants, whale sharks and enjoy some beautiful coral gardens or enjoyable drift dives along the walls where anything can pass by at any time. The journey continues with us heading back to the east to visit Vaavu atoll. Here you will enjoy some shark action in the channels and the famous dive with the Nurse sharks at Alimatha Jetty. Finally on the way back will dive Kandooma Thila, a magical place in South Male with schooling eagle rays, grey reef sharks, green turtles and one of the best soft coral dives in Maldives. 

This itinerary will take you to Baa Atoll. This is a biosphere reserve for UNESCO with thilas covered in fish. Also the special Hanifaru Bay where you can enjoy the mantas dancing during the full moon and new moon festivals. It’s a special itinerary for Maldives lovers, because it will offer the opportunity to explore the Northern Atolls far from the crowds.

Will visit the pristine coral gardens and Manta point, these are the manta cleaning stations of Raa atoll. Then will visit Lhaviyani Atoll, with shipwrecks, another Manta point with manta cleaning stations and channels full of shark action. On the way back  will have the opportunity to explore the northern dive sites of North Male Atoll.
