A truly varied Red Sea itinerary combining the North’s iconic wrecks, Ras Mohamed’s thriving reefs, the dramatic drop-offs of the Brothers and Safaga’s vibrant coral gardens. From the Thistlegorm’s historic holds to Panorama Reef’s sea fans, every dive feels different, schools of jacks, rays, turtles and occasional pelagics (conditions dependent). 16 dives/6 dive days (extra dives possible). Mehr erfahren
The Golden Loop is a true best-of Egypt itinerary. It brings together four very different worlds in one cruise: Northern wreck heritage, Ras Mohamed's current-fed reefs, the dramatic offshore drop-offs of the Brothers, and the bright coral gardens of Safaga. It is ideal for divers who want variety, history and open-sea atmosphere in a single week.

THE DIVING EXPERIENCE
This route is built on contrast. One day you explore a famous wreck with glassfish swirling in the shadows; the next you drift along a wall where the blue is endless. You will move from calm reef scenes to more dynamic dives shaped by currents. Marine encounters may include large schools of fish, turtles, rays and, in the right season and conditions, pelagic visitors.

NORTH: WRECKS AND CLASSIC REEFS
The Northern Red Sea delivers legendary names. Thistlegorm is a world-class wreck and an unforgettable dive, famous for its atmosphere and historic cargo. Nearby sites add more classics such as Carnatic and Giannis D, where coral growth, fish life and photogenic details make every dive rewarding. Gubal reefs add colourful scenery and relaxed profiles, with the possibility of additional wreck diving when conditions allow. The week often starts smoothly at Shaab El Erg, a horseshoe reef where dolphins are often seen (conditions dependent).

RAS MOHAMED: DRIFT DIVING AT FULL POWER
Ras Mohamed is where currents bring life. Drifts along Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef combine steep walls, coral plateaus and intense fish activity. Gorgonians and soft corals cover the reef, while turtles, napoleon wrasse and giant morays are frequently seen. The Yolanda debris field adds a unique finish and a strong sense of place.

BROTHERS: OFFSHORE DRAMA
The Brothers Islands rise from deep water and deliver true open-sea diving. Expect steep walls, healthy coral growth and blue-water viewpoints where pelagics may appear. Big Brother's south plateau is known for exciting conditions and strong marine life, while Small Brother is famous for shark potential when currents and visibility align (seasonal/conditions dependent). These dives are best suited to confident, experienced divers.

SAFAGA: COLOUR, STRUCTURE AND RELAXED BEAUTY
Safaga brings a different rhythm and a beautiful finish to the cruise. Abu Kifan and Panorama Reef offer impressive drop-offs, sea fans and a real offshore feel close to the coast. Panorama South, Tobia and Ras Abu Soma add calmer coral gardens, pinnacles and sandy corridors, perfect for relaxed diving and underwater photography.

PRACTICAL INFO
Diving: minimum 16 dives/week guaranteed (2 to 3 per day on average, including night dives when possible). Extra dives are free.
Minimum level: Advanced / N2 (or equivalent) plus 50 logged dives.
Start/end: Hurghada or Port Ghalib.

ITINERARY NOTE
Itineraries and dive sites are indicative and may change with seasons and local conditions. The cruise leader and captain select the best options daily to maximize diving quality while maintaining strict safety standards.

BDE - Brothers / Daedalus / Elphinstone is Egypt’s most iconic offshore triangle, combining Brothers Islands, Daedalus Reef and Elphinstone. This is a Marine Park route where currents fuel exceptional life. Expect open-sea atmosphere, dramatic walls, and the constant excitement of watching the blue for passing pelagics.

THE DIVING EXPERIENCE
Days feel bigger than the coastline: early briefings, zodiac drops, and dives shaped by currents, drop-offs and plateaus. Encounters with hammerheads, oceanic whitetips and other sharks are possible, always depending on season and conditions.

BROTHERS ISLANDS
Two remote pinnacles rising from deep water, known for thick coral growth, steep walls and a true offshore vibe. DAEDALUS REEF
A legendary ocean reef with excellent visibility and several distinct sides: vertical walls, coral gardens and dynamic drifts. Daedalus is known for early dives and blue-water potential, from large schools to big pelagics at the right time of year.

ELPHINSTONE
Often the grand finale: the north and south plateaus stretch into the blue, framed by colourful soft corals and anthias clouds. Currents can be lively, with possible sightings of grey reef sharks, barracuda and, on lucky days, hammerheads or oceanic whitetips (seasonal/conditions dependent).

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum level: Advanced / N2 (or equivalent) plus 50 logged dives. Recommended for divers comfortable with currents, depth and offshore conditions.
