Black Manta

Day 1 Hulhumale

A Dune agent will meet you at the airport and will transport you to the boat. Once you arrive, you will be offered refreshments while the cruise director will provide you with all the necessary information about the ship's organisation and the details of your cruise.

Day 2 North Male - South Male - Vaavu Atoll

The trip will start by exploring the long reefs of North Male Atoll. Corals are abundant here, providing an exceptional home for many fish and smaller creatures. After the first dive we will sail to Vaavu Atoll to get straight into the heart of the action.

Day 3 Vaavu Atoll - Meemu Atoll

In addition to the exceptional topography and marine life, you will also visit the virgin reefs of Meemu Atoll. The excellent canal covered with steep walls and overhangs covered in soft corals. A great chance to encounter hammerheads with grey sharks, white tip sharks, eagle rays, napoleons and turtles.

Day 4 Meemu Atoll - Thaa Atoll - Laamu Atoll

Travelling south, you will discover a varied topography: thilas, gyres, canals, coral gardens and overhangs. You will also encounter reef sharks, white tips, eagle rays, tunas, and jacks crevalles shoals.

Day 5 Laamu Atoll - North Gaafu Atoll

Laamu Atoll is characterised by drift dives and deep canals that attracts sharks, rays, jacks crevalles and tunas. You will also discover intact caves and drops offs. The central lagoon hosts large shoals of parrotfish, triggerfish and turtles.

Day 6 North Gaafu - South Gaafu Atoll

The largest atoll in the Maldives, located in the deep south, offers intact reefs and lagoons. A wide variety of turtles and sharks, including blacktip, whitetip and nurse sharks have made their home here. You may even be lucky enough to see the bulldog and tiger sharks that sometimes honour us with their presence.

Day 7 Gaafu Atoll South - Fuvamulah

Gaaf dhall is also made up of very beautiful canals with intact corals and also very frequented by pelagics.

Depending on current and wind conditions we will then head to the mythical site of Fuvamulah. Located below the equator, it is renowned for the presence of many sharks, in particular tiger sharks, and very often reserves beautiful surprise encounters!

Day 8 Fuvamulah Atoll

We will spend the day on this mythical atoll searching for large pelagic fish for special encounters. In addition to the beautiful underwater scenery, there are also new chances to encounter napoleons and other shoals of coral fish.

Day 9 Fuvamulah - Gaafu Atoll

A last dive on Fuvamulah atoll and then we will go back up to Gaafu to enjoy the multitude of canals that this atoll offers. Afterwards we will anchor at night with the possibility to observe whale sharks at the back of the boat.

Day 10 Gaafu Atoll

Depending on your return flights we will make 2 to 3 dives in the passes around the islands of Vilingili and Khoodoo.

Day 11 Khoodoo

Departure from the boat to Khoodoo domestic airport and transfer to Male airport for your international flight.

Day 1 : Hulhumalé - Kooddoo

A Dune agent will meet you at Male International Airport and transfer you to the domestic terminal for your domestic flight to Kooddoo located on Gaafu Atoll where your guides will be waiting to welcome you and guide you aboard the boat

Day 2 : Gaafu Atoll South - Fuvamulah

Gaaf dhall is also made up of very beautiful canals with intact corals and also very frequented by pelagics.

Day 3 : Fuvamulah

We will spend the day on this mythical atoll searching for large pelagic fish for special encounters. In addition to the beautiful underwater scenery, there are also new chances to encounter napoleons and other shoals of coral fish.

Day 4 : Fuvamulah - Gaafu

A last dive on Fuvamulah atoll and then we will go back up to Gaafu to enjoy the multitude of canals that this atoll offers. Afterwards we will anchor at night with the possibility to observe whale sharks at the back of the boat.

Day 5 : Gaafu - Laamu

Return from the deep south. In general the crossing is done at night and we arrive on Laamu atoll at first daylight where we visit other dive sites, especially colourful reefs with many beautiful surprises.

Day 6 : Laamu - Thaa

We will leave for Thaa Atoll where we will put the boat in a night anchorage that is famous for its whale shark encounters, and then we will do more dives in the rich canals while waiting for nightfall.

Day 7 : Thaa - Meemu

On the way up to the north, we will go to Meemu to dive other sites with a variety of colours and fauna, and why not enjoy another session with manta rays.

Day 8 : Meemu Atoll - Vaavu Atoll

A stop at Fotteyo, one of the richest and most famous dives in the Maldives with unrivalled colour, but also very famous for the possibility of encountering hammerhead sharks.

Day 9 : Vaavu Atoll - Malé South

Return to Guraidhoo with the opportunity to visit the fisherman's island and dive two legendary and unmissable canals.

Day 10 : South Malé - North Malé

Back to the starting point with a last dive surrounded by stingrays and giant moray eels and sometimes even a guitar shark who will come to see us every now and again; then rinsing of the equipment, sunset and last evening on board.

Day 11 : Hulhumale

Departure from the boat to Male airport for your international flight.

Day 1 : Hulhumale
Dune staff will pick you up at Malé International Airport and bring you to the main boat. Enjoy a drink while listening to our Cruise Director welcome briefing. Dinner will be served in the evening and you will spend the first night at Hulhumalé marina.

Day 2 & 3 : Baa Atoll et Hanifaru
The trip will start discovering the dazzling long reefs or a manta point (May to Nov only) in North Malé Atoll. At only 15 m depth, you can have a chance to start the trip watching mantas looping on their cleaning stations. 

Day 4 : Raa Atoll
The cruise will move up to the Raa Atoll. More thilas and giri will be the place to be to discover an exceptional variety of parrotfish, unicorn fish, gobies, basslets, and fusiliers along with jacks, tunas, stingrays, and napoleon wrasses.

Day 5 : Shaviyany atoll
Back from the far North, you will dive in the beautiful Shaviyani Atoll . Take a closer look at the dazzling reefs and encounter guitar sharks, eagle rays, and school of batfish. When night falls, you will be invited to go ashore and indulge yourself in the barbecue dinner prepared by our crew on a nearby desert island.

Day 6 : Noonu atoll
You will dive in Christmas Tree Rock and take a chance to observe 20 or more sharks circling around and waiting to be cleaned. The pinnacle resembles a Christmas tree with layers of ledges and plateaus covered in soft, pink corals.

Day 7 & 8 : Lhaviyany

Here you will not only find wall dives, but also current swept channels full of sharks, including grey reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, and black tip reef sharks. Keep looking in the blue and you will often see tunas, barracudas as well as eagle rays.

Day 9 & 10 : North Male

In North Male Atoll you will find stunning long reefs, small caves, colourful corals with prolific marine and reef life once again. Take a closer look at the squirrelfish, bannerfish, oriental sweetlips, frogfish, and nudibranchs. In the afternoon you will come back to Hulhumale marina to spend your last night on board and debrief about our fabulous encounters with Mantas.

Day 11 : Hulhumale

The trip is arriving at the end. Our crew will arrange the transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule once you have had your breakfast on board. We are also glad to help you plan for the day and booking for accommodations. Time to come back home with fantastic memories!
