Royal Evolution

With warm, crystal clear waters and amazing sights to be seen including caves, coral reefs and beautiful tropical fish, there is a whole underwater world just waiting to be explored when we go to St. John

Actually, St John’s has fabulous diving. Stunning coral plus large shoals of fish, turtles, dolphins and sharks. It’s a collection of small reefs in the far south of Egypt covering around 290 km2.

The highlights of diving the Red Sea’s Deep South include some terrific coral walls and gardens, including a mix of both soft and hard coral formations, plenty of tunnels and caves, and great visibility. Probably the best in the Red Sea

Reef & fish life is still untouched and the deep walls and currents at some of the dive sites attract grey reef, hammerhead, Oceanic & sometimes thresher sharks, as well as other predator fish such as barracuda and jacks.

Jour 1 : Embarquement (Port Ghaleb)

Jour 2 : Plongée de contrôle à El Shouna, navigation vers Elphinstone pour une plongée en milieu d'après-midi et l'après-midi, navigation de nuit vers les Brothers.

Jour 3 : Plongée sur le Big Brother le matin, en milieu d'après-midi et l'après-midi.

Jour 4 : Plongée sur le Small Brother le matin, en milieu d'après-midi et l'après-midi, navigation de nuit vers le récif Deadalus.

Jour 5 : Plongée sur Deadalus le matin, en milieu d'après-midi et l'après-midi, navigation de nuit vers Rocky Island.

Jour 6 : Plongée le matin à Rocky Island, en milieu d'après-midi à Zabargad Island, puis navigation vers le récif de St John pour des plongées l'après-midi et la nuit, navigation de nuit vers Fury Shoel.

Jour 7 : Plongée le matin à Shaab Maksur et en milieu d'après-midi à Claudia reef. Navigation vers Port Ghaleb.

Jour 8 : Arrivée tôt le matin à Port Ghaleb. Débarquement

Les points forts sont les suivants :

Carnatic

Ce navire de passagers et de courrier de P&O est entouré de mystère. Il a été coulé en 1869 et seule une fraction de l'or qu'il transportait a été récupérée. La qualité de la lumière et l'abondance d'éponges et de coraux de table en font le favori des photographes sous-marins.

Thistlegorm

Cette épave est l'une des préférées des plongeurs du monde entier, même si certains la considèrent comme une tombe de guerre. Le Thistlegorm était un cargo militaire de la Seconde Guerre mondiale destiné à approvisionner la 8e armée britannique en Afrique du Nord. Il était rempli à ras bord de machines et de munitions lorsqu'un bombardier allemand l'a coulé le 6 octobre 1941. 

Abu Nuhas

Traduit de l'arabe, Nuhas signifie "laiton" - un nom donné au récif par les pêcheurs locaux après qu'un navire transportant une cargaison de laiton y ait trouvé refuge.

DAY 3 : Dive at THE BROTHERS morning , mid-afternoon & afternoon. 
DAY 4 : Dive at THE BROTHERS morning , mid-afternoon & afternoon. Sailing overnight to DAEDELUS REEF. 
DAY 5 : Dive at DAEDELUS REEF morning , mid-afternoon & afternoon. Sailing overnight to ELPHINESTONE REEF. 
DAY 6 : Dive at ELPHINESTONE REEF morning, mid-afternoon & afternoon. Sailing at night and overnight to Hurghada 
DAY 7 : Dive Giftun & Abu Ramada - Hurghada (Disembarkation).

Elphinstone

As you slowly ascend to your stops, observe the large silvertips along the plateau. The northern plateau is the perfect place to see hammerheads usually in only 25m of water! As you drift back along the wall, you are bound to see a turtle, or another large silvertip speeding after its prey, while the more timid creatures take refuge in the crevices of the reef itself.

Little Brother
This island offers some spectacular coral diving, with the most colourful soft corals and delicate gorgonian forests at around 30m. As you turn your head away from the drop-off, you are bound to see sharks gliding into the deep. The brothers attract several species of sharks, including hammer-heads, silver tips, oceanic whitetips and even tiger sharks. 

Big Brother
A huge Freighter lies on the northern plateaux of Big Brother with the stern wedged in to the island at a depth of 80m. This wreck is adorned with spectacular soft coral dancing in strong currents. This dive is only for the experienced. The Aida II is a supply ship that hit the reef circa 1957. The stern section only remains and lies between 30 to 70 m. its structure is heavily colonised with soft and hard coral encrustation. This makes an interesting dive not only for the wreck but also the large pelagic fish and schools of barracuda that glide around it.
